Acknowledgement of Country

We acknowledge the Wodi Wodi people, custodians of the land on which the Dapto Uniting Church stands. The Wodi Wodi are part of the Dharawal Nation, and their connection to this country spans countless generations. We pay our deepest respects to their elders—those who have walked before us, those who walk alongside us today, and those yet to emerge.

As we gather in this sacred space, we honour the rich cultural heritage, wisdom, and resilience of the Wodi Wodi people. Their spiritual connection to the land, waters, and skies of the Illawarra region remains steadfast.

Together, may we walk in harmony as First and Second Peoples, learning from the stories etched into this ancient landscape. Let us foster a deeper understanding of our shared history, guided by reverence and respect.

We ask First Nations people to please be aware that our website may contain materials honouring individuals who have passed away, such as photographs, videos, or recordings. We handle these artifacts with utmost sensitivity, recognising their significance and the lives they represent.
