Step back in time to 1841, when the first Sunday services were held in a humble Dapto schoolroom under the leadership of a Presbyterian minister Rev John Tait. As Dapto blossomed with the arrival of the railway in 1887, and the church emerged as a cornerstone of the growing community.
Fast forward to 1959, when our current red brick building, originally known as St Andrew's Presbyterian Church, was inaugurated and dedicated. The church's identity evolved in 1977 with the formation of the Uniting Church in Australia, a union of Australian Methodist, Presbyterian, and Congregational Churches. The Dapto Uniting Church congregation chose to continue their fellowship in their beloved Presbyterian building. The journey led to 1981, when we embarked on an ambitious expansion to include new hall facilities, a testament to the power of prayer and thoughtful planning.
Today, the Dapto Uniting family remains committed to our mission of spreading the love of Jesus throughout our community. We are proud to offer a variety of ministries designed to meet the diverse needs of those we serve. Join us and be a part of our enduring legacy and vibrant future.
